What's that smell??

I've been a slacker about blogging, so I will squeeze this bit in real quick. As you can tell from the pictures, we have started Brooklyn on rice cereal for a few days now. I thought she was never (never, meaning only after 3 days....I know I am a freak) going to get the hang of eating from a spoon, until this morning. We mashed up a little banana into her rice cereal and "open sesame." That little girl couldn't contain her desire to eat more :)
Needless to say, banana is on the menu this week for Cutie B.

After our very busy day, we were getting ready to put Brooklyn down for the night and Aaron and I both were twitching our noses. "It smells like maple syrup" I said. "I was just thinking the same thing; pancakes or something" Aaron said.

Sure enough her Swaddle Me smelled really funky. Well, between the two of us and our day, we must have neglected to wash her Swaddle Me and sheet that Brooklyn had peed on the night before. She always rolls over onto her stomach during the night and many times her diapers can't handle all the pee in the front and it will soak through onto her pj's and more. It must have and we don't have another Swaddle Me in the bigger size for her.........so it was back to basics tonight.

Mommy busted out a large receiving blanket and swaddled Brooklyn up for bedtime. We are hoping she doesn't wiggle out of it because she is such an inchworm, but we shall see. It's funny how sometimes you just have to go "back to the basics."

Busy Weekend

Aaron's Grandma and Grandpa Molden took a pit stop in GP for the weekend. Last night, Brooklyn got to meet her great-grandparents for the first time ever and they gave her a new bathing suit!!! (Daddy was not pleased, considering I just bought her one not too long ago as well....hehe!)

We went to dinner with them, the Nate Hein Family, the Nick Hein Family, and the Dan Hein Family at Chili's and had a wonderful time chatting. Today, the three of us picked up Grandma and Grandpa Molden from their hotel and brought them back to see our house. The last time they had seen it was when Aaron and I got married, so there were lots of changes to show them. We had lunch and went into Dallas to visit the Sixth Floor JFK Museum. We had a wonderful time! They had never been and neither had Aaron, and it's been years for me, so it was quite the experience.

It was off to Dan, Amanda and Remi's new apartment afterwards. They were in the midst of their moving day to Los Colinas. They have a beautiful 2 bedroom place with a study.....very nice!

We got home just in time for Brooklyn to eat her rice cereal dinner with banana! It was a very long day, but a nice (busy) change. We will be doing a long run in the morning and then meeting for breakfast with all the family and Grandparents again. Canada vs. USA hockey game to follow!

Bear Butt

If I am anything like my Mommy or Daddy, I will have a very large bottom that will inevitably be stared at later in life. Unfortunately, Mommy gets a kick out of it already!

Baby-Free Night

It seems like every time Aaron and I decide to have a date night, I am always feeling poorly. Well, we finally made it out!

Nana and Papa de Wolfe accepted the "overnight challenge" and kept Brooklyn for us (Thank you!!). We dropped her off yesterday at 2:00, so we could go and do our long run without subjecting her to the cold weather. It was a tough run because there were several snowy patches and fallen trees along the path, so it wasn't quite the journey we were hoping to get in. But nonetheless, we enjoy chatting and pounding the pavement together. We headed home for showers and a NAP!! Oh, it's the minor things you miss!

Then, it was sushi time!! Of course we dined on awesome rolls and killer martini's at our favorite place, Piranha's. We checked out the dueling piano bar/improv joint (new) right next door. It was pretty cool, but standing area was the only available spot by the time we arrived and it was a bit of a wait at the bar. All in all, a place we will frequent from now on. We had a great time and again, our conversation and laughs couldn't be beat.

Anticipating 9:00am on the clock, Aaron's phone alarm went off at 7, so sleeping in was not an option.....dang :(

McDonald's (how romantic on Valentine's Day) for breakfast.....ha! We hadn't eaten there in lord knows how long and oddly enough, it tasted great. We picked up our little sweetheart afterwards and Daddy and I had certainly missed her.

Chip's Playtime

Chip has been whining nonstop to go outside since we have had all this snow. He has loved playing in it :)

Texas Too!

Well, snow has stuck us too here in Texas. We began dismissing students early today from school and I believe it will be later arrival tomorrow. Crazy! Certainly no comparison to the madness in the Northeast, but I think Brooklyn has seen more "real" snow now that Aaron and I combined :)

Side story: Our garage door has been malfunctioning for a while now and it was bound to need replacing/repair soon. Yesterday Aaron called someone out and they quoted us repair costs for about the same as a new unit. So, of course, Aaron bought a new one and spent 6 hours getting it all hooked up and working properly last night (didn't finish until 10:30). I kept asking him to come in and worry about it another day and he insisted on completing it. As we woke up to snow accumulation this morning, he said "this was why I HAD to finish it last night, so my woman could get into a dry car." What a sweetie!
