October Petting Farm

A co-worker of mine told me about a petting farm not too far from the house. So Saturday morning after our workout, the Hein family headed on another adventure. We were debating going because the sky looked as if it was going to open at any point. Luckily, only a few drops fell while we were there and then lightning as we were leaving the farm.

Brooklyn got to stand by a cow (it was an area where kids could milk a cow, but not quite ready for that one). She went on a hay ride and saw many different animals. She liked the piglets and actually did feed the goats this time.

She got to walk around with geese, chickens and turkeys. Although, one turkey was scaring Momma, so we didn't stay long with them!

She also got to pet a baby duckling....so cute! At the end of the farm, Dadda and Brooklyn got to choose a pumpkin to bring home.

Cousin Charlie is 4!

State Fair

The Friday before last, Aaron had the day off, so I took off and we headed to the Texas State Fair with Brooklyn. We had a wonderful time and of course ate terrible fried foods :) It's a must when you go. Brooklyn enjoyed cheese quesadillas and milk, loved the dog show, bird show, and some of the animal petting zoo.

Here is the Dog Show.

A little hesitant to feed the goats.

Fried Cookie Dough.....oh yes, it was GOOD!!!!

Up For Sale!

Now that Aaron has begun his new commute, the house is on the market. We have priced it to sell and started the prayers. We are hoping to make a move from our beloved "worked-our-buns-off-to-remodel" home to one in Fort Worth by summer 2011. Here is the website featuring the house. Anyone interested?!?

New Adventure

Aaron recently accepted a new position with a company in Northwest Fort Worth. TTI Inc. is the world’s leading distributor specialist of passive, connector, electromechanical and discrete components. He begins tomorrow, Oct. 18th as their sole Industrial Engineer. He is responsible for continuous improvement/cost reduction activities. He will be going through a training program from about 6 months with the long term objective of becoming a manager of operations/supply chain.

We are very excited about this new opportunity; many prayers answered!

MLB Playoffs

Aaron and I went to Pluckers on Friday night to watch the Rangers play the Yankees. Kelli Sanders (Jen's sister-in-law) joined us there and we had a great time until the 8th inning.....ouch! Jason and Katelyn came into town for the Saturday game. My dad had tickets for both games. What an outstanding performance by our Rangers!!

It's all hyped up around here :)

New Look

Momma finally got her "hair did!" I am such a cheapo and never spend money on some of the normal things many woman spend money on....hair, make-up, nails. Anyways, I am in the process of growing my hair out, but desperately needed it trimmed again. It has been about 5 or 6 months since my last cut!! I took the plunge and got it colored as well and I absolutely love it. It is BOLD for me! I got some highlights and low lights with a hint of red :)

Cousin Remi's First Birthday Party

Cousin Remington turned ONE on Thursday and we got to celebrate his birthday today!! It was so nice; it was at a local park with food, cupcakes and lots of presents. Remi is such a cutie and was such a happy boy the whole time!

Here are a few pictures and I will be unloading the album as soon as we get another drive to hold all of them....we have already ran out of space!!

Lone Star Park Again

Aaron and I love the horse track, hence why we had our reception there! Unfortunately, we have not made it there since Brooklyn was born. We finally took her out there on Friday night for Quarter Horse Racing and it was wonderful! The weather was gorgeous and there was barely anyone in attendance. This made the visit much more enjoyable because we got up close with some horses and B was able to walk ALL over the place (because that's all she wants to do....go, go, go). She got her first pony too :)

A gentleman was kind enough to bring his horse over and let Brooklyn take a look. She begged for it to come back, but was unsure about petting it when it was in front of her.

She enjoyed watching the horses race by her. But I think more than anything, she is proud of herself for going places.

Pictures, Pictures

I apologize that I have been so lax about blogging. Things are pretty busy around here and I will blog more on that topic at a later time. I did want to share some of the "favs" from our picture session. This is Brooklyn's one year/A, E and B Hein family photos.

Mah Jongg "Sisters"

This Saturday Night, I hosted a wine and Mah Jongg night for my Hein sister-in-laws. We had a wonderful time!! I made a super easy chicken, broccoli and cheese dinner with rice krispie treats for desert. The conversation was endless and we played until the "wee" hours of the night. No kiddos, no men, just ladies! It will become a regular occurrence.

Thanks girls for a great night!
