Hi Dadda!

I'm not sure what happened with the first video I posted, but here is another one!

15 Month Check-Up

Our Cayleigh Chunk is growing up so fast! She was a champ today for her shots and now weighs 22.6 lbs (40th %) and is 29 3/4 inches tall (25th %). She still has no hair, but we love her bald head. She is running everywhere and constantly pushes the limits. She is a great eater, for now, and literally copies everything her big sister does. She talks so much these days, will respond to anything you ask her with yes or no and will follow simple directions you give. Just love her!!

She strung together two words on Saturday night, "Hi Dadda" and "Hi Momma." I finally got the video camera out to tape her after she kept saying it so well.....of course, she barely says it in the video and won't say "Hi Momma." Of well, enjoy!

Ready for some Ranger baseball!!

Bring on the Mess, I mean, Renovations!?!

Aaron pulled the trigger and ordered 1700 sq ft of engineered hardwood flooring. We hate the dust from our carpet, so we are replacing all the carpeting (only carpet, no tile) in our entire downstairs. AHHHH! It arrives tomorrow and WE, yes Aaron and myself, will begin installing it this weekend in Brooklyn's room since it is all cleared out from our initial work on it earlier this weekend.

What are we thinking?!?!?!
It will be a slow process, but it will look great in the end! What can I say, we are glutton for madness and chaos and TOTAL PROJECT JUNKIES! I just got done telling my sister-in-law Jen, we will never buy new again.....we like to customize. Lots of pictures to come of the process and also, several before/after pictures of many changes we have already made in the house.

Here is the flooring....

Valentine Fun

Over the course of last week, we had several Valentine activities going on.

Last weekend, Gamma and Gampa Hein invited all the bigger grandchildren over for a sleepover. What fun!! The girls had a great time hanging out with their cousins and doing cute crafts with Gamma. Mommy and Daddy got to enjoy a very nice dinner out at Morton's Steakhouse in Dallas.....win, win!  They were up early to attend church the next morning. We then met for lunch with all the family later that day. Both girls were fast asleep on the ride home after their fun-filled stay.

Monday Feb. 11th, we headed over to a valentine party play-date with one of the mom's group I was invited to join. One of Brooklyn's good friends in her preschool class, Addison, and her mommy and brother hosted it at their house. It was a wonderful party and the kiddos played games, decorated boxes for their valentines and rice krispie treats, ate yummy foods and chatted up a storm. Brooklyn adores Addison and her brother, Jackson is just a week younger than Cayleigh, so they love to "play" too.

We decided to make crayon hearts for family and friends. So, Brooklyn and I peeled the paper off crayons, broke them and place them in the molds to bake/melt into colorful hearts. They turned out really cute, but lets be honest, this Mommy got stuck doing a lot of the work and what a pain. We will definitely think of a new craft to do next year!

In the making, Brooklyn did fill the molds by herself

Finished products

Wednesday evening, we hosted an early Valentine's Day Dinner for Nana and Papa de Wolfe. I grilled prime beef sirloin, broiled lobster tails (best way to ever cook them!), sauteed asparagus and mushrooms, steamed carrots, and baked a cinnamon chocolate cream pie. YUM!! Everything was fabulous and we enjoyed the company. This is now our third year to do surf-n-turf for Valentine's.

On Thursday, the 14th, Brooklyn had her school party and came home with lots of goodies!
My big Valentine

And my little Cayleigh Chunk turned 15 months old!! Oh my!!

My little Valentine
Daddy bought us a dozen roses, chocolate covered strawberries and heart-shapes treats!

Friday, Nana came to babysit so Brooklyn and I could go see Rapunzel!! at Casa Manana. It was so good and the stage was really cool looking. Brooklyn, of course, loved it and thought it was so funny that Rapunzel cut her hair really short at the end.

Brooklyn and I also went to a birthday party on Saturday afternoon and then she stayed the rest of the weekend at her Nana and Papa's house while Aaron and I removed her furniture, installed a chair rail and repainted the bottom half of her room.

Stock Show and Rodeo

We won tickets again this year to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo through a raffle at Aaron's work. Round 2 and this time we made it 5 seconds!! No bottles to worry about and it ended up being a cry-less evening :)

We got out there early and walked around the carnival area, ate hamburgers, fries and corny dogs. There was a live band playing inside an enclosed pavilion and Brooklyn begged to go dance, so of course, we obliged. B and C were obviously the only children that were in there (because it was also a bar area), but it was early enough that it was not crowded at all and the girls got to stand on the dance floor and shake their hips to the band....it was really cute. Then we headed inside the arena for the main event. Both the girls loved it and were thrilled about the horses and bulls and lights. Brooklyn has been to several rodeos now that she knows all about what's happening and so forth. We did leave before it was over because its just so late, the girls got tired. But a FAR cry from last year, thank goodness! A good night out for the Hein family!
