First Day of School 2018

Brooklyn and Cayleigh were starting their first day and Morgan was going to her meet the teacher...it was a very exciting morning for our house! Brooklyn starting 3rd Grade, Cayleigh in 1st Grade and Morgan in Pre-K, her last year before starting school with her sisters (which she can not wait for).

This year, Morgan would be going to school at the church Monday-Thursday rather than MWF, like we had done with everyone in the past. The beloved teacher that both B and C had was beginning to teacher a new class and I really wanted Morgan to have Ms. Robin also. And prayerfully, the big girls returned to Haslet Elementary for the 2018 school year.

Brooklyn and Mrs. Guy
We worked hard to keep these sweet girls from more change in their school situation and God blessed us with that ability. We are very excited for the growth we will see in them at school and also foster at  home.

Ms. Robin and Ms. Susan and several new teachers were in store for Morgan. Both her spanish and music teacher were new and they were beginning a new STEM class for more hands-on learning.

Meet The Teacher

Earlier in the week we received an email telling us who Brooklyn and Cayleigh's teacher for the new school year. Mrs. Parrish was a teacher that Cayleigh already knew and really wanted. She also learned that her two best friends, Layla and Jack, also would be in her class, so she was over the moon leading up to actually meeting her teacher. Brooklyn, however, really wanted one teacher and found out she would have Mrs. Guy. She was pretty bummed and nervous. Thankfully, her insecurities were laid to rest when she spoke with a friend from church who had her the year before. Meeting Mrs. Guy and seeing her room made everything great again.

The girls were so glad to be back at the same school and seeing some of their closest friends in the hallways at Meet the Teacher Night. We are praying for the best year for our big girls and so grateful that they love school.

Gampa's Bday and Rodeo

We went over to Gamma and Gampa's house for dinner and swimming on Gampa's actual birthday. We loved the individual time!

The annual Mesquite Rodeo was a blast too! They had the kid area set up beforehand so everyone got to meet some of the female trick riders and Zach beamed during the pony ride. Lots of good entertainment and fun times with the Hein family.

Zachary's 2nd Birthday

We celebrated the big boy, Zach turning 2 in August! It feels like just the other day he was taking his sweet time to enter into this world. He had a train party and by "party" I mean dinner, homemade cake by Nana and some decorations with us and my parents. (Sadly, haven't done any kind of party for the kids birthdays in a long time.) Zachary loved his cake and we had fun getting to love on him. Brooklyn got a new sewing machine from Gamma this summer and she made Zach a lovey all on her own!

The most handsome little man!

Brooklyn even added a Z to his lovey
Zachary,
You are such a fun-loving and silly boy. You can light up a room with your smile and the belly laugh you have is the best ever. You love your sisters, especially your "Moegan." You love playing all things sports and "cars and kucks." We can't imagine our family without you as the bookend.
Happy 2nd Birthday, Zachary Grant!! We love you!
