We played hooky this year with the biggin's and hit the State Fair with a full agenda! We were there for 6 hours and the weather was absolutely gorgeous and we had the BEST time!!! It was so much fun!! We started at the kids zone section and got tattoos, face paintings and did a few other quick crafts.

| Gorgeous day!!! |
Next, we watched the pig races, went to the petting zoo and fed the animals.
 |
| The goats were the only ones hungry (and small) enough to feed. |
After a good hand washing, we stopped to eat our sandwiches we brought from home and power up to compete in weighted tractor pull races! The girls did so awesome! Morgan wasn't technically old enough, but they let her do it anyway, so that was fun! Each tractor had more or less weight depending on the age of the kid; they didn't race against their own age/size. Brooklyn didn't realize where she was supposed to stop, so she didn't qualify to compete in round 2. Cayleigh did though! So cute!

They had a lot of new things this year and one was "Little Hands on the Farm" and it was an interactive sequence where the kids had to do daily farm chores to earn money. They had things like gathering eggs from the hens, tending the garden, planting seeds, picking cotton and vegetables. It was really neat and at the end, they got to spend their fake money and chose a real treat from the grocery store. Oreos were definitely chosen and consumed!

| Enjoying the oreos |
Lots of walking around, eating various fried foods: corndog, chicken and waffles on a stick, and oreos. We went into the Food and Fiber Pavillon for free samples of yogurt and apples, more games and prizes for the kids. We stopped to take pictures with Big Tex and the ferris wheel had an older lady handed us a ton of coupons ("Because you've got a lot of kids and I bought too many of these, here.") I guess it pays off to have too many kids! It allowed the girls to do a "ride" and we agreed upon a water log ride and it was a smash hit! They loved it and raved about it the rest of the day.

After the ride, we saw the Wild West Pet Palooza show with dogs, cats and birds doing tricks around a saloon stage. Then, caught the Mother Goose story time before calling it a day. We had an absolute blast and for as much walking as we did, the girls never complained! It was the most wonderful family day together!!
