Many Changes Ahead...

I think the title is a bit of an understatement!!
House: We currently have a contract on our house and are due to close on April 30th. Over the weekend, Aaron and I tackled a few closets, china cabinet, books, winter clothes and so forth. It was a bit emotional seeing boxes pile up and empty walls. Looking back on our home, we can't help but remember the awful condition it was in when we purchased it. I distinctly remember my dad telling us, "You are in over your heads tackling this renovation!" We made this house a home, a phenomenal looking home, our first home, where we brought our first child home to, and it is becoming difficult for me to swallow the thought of leaving it.

Dog, Chip: We listed Chip in the classifieds through my sister-in-law's work. A sweet couple came to the house on Saturday and they adopted him. Chip is an amazing and wonderful dog and we loved him very much, but given our current circumstances (temporary living to come), we felt it was best not to impose on others with housing him. The couple was very excited about having Chip and had already purchased "goodies" for him. We spoke to them today and they said he is doing wonderfully and is right at home. It certainly makes losing him less painful knowing that the new owners will love him as much as we did.

Next Steps: Once the sale is finalized, we are going to move in with my parents temporarily. We have been researching some builders in the Fort Worth area and are going to take a look at some model homes in the next few weekends in hopes of building our second home! We are excited, anxious, sad, overwhelmed.....any emotion you can think of, we are feeling right now about the many changes ahead. We are thinking positively and confident that God's ultimate plan for us is in the works.

A Packed Break

Brooklyn and I got home from PA on Thursday afternoon. The following day we went to her check-up, had lunch with Daddy, visited my college roommate Kensley because I was a host for her baby shower the next day. My other roommate drove up from Houston and we hung out all night Friday, had a beautiful and successful shower to baby Connor Jaxon Sutherlin on Saturday and spent the night together again. Today, we spent majority of the afternoon at Corsair Park with the Hein Family. It was a blast, windy, but blast!! Check out those pictures on our blog link too.

Needless to say, I am one worn out Mommy and I have to return to work tomorrow :(

Visit to Wexford, PA

Over Spring Break, Brooklyn and Mommy flew to visit my brother, Jason, sister-in-law Jen, and 2 nieces, Addyson and Katelyn. The weather was a bit more chilly than Texas, so our outdoor activities were pretty limited. However, we were able to get out for two walks with all the girls!

Saturday and Sunday were lax days for all of us and it was more time spent with Jason because he wasn't working. Monday, we went to their gym and B and Kate got to hang out with some other kiddos while Addy was in school. That night, Jen and I were invited to a "Bachelor Finale Watching Party" and it was really fun except for the fact that her nor I have been following the show!

There was lots of Mah Jongg playing after all the girls went asleep, great conversation, excellent meals, we made "cousins" t-shirts, a trip to the local library to read and play, dancing in the kitchen....all around fun trip. Lots of new tricks were learned from each other and we now have a climber :)
Brooklyn had a difficult time adjusting to her new atmosphere, but was an angel on the plane ride there and back. We can't wait to see the girls again this summer!!

18th Month Check-Up

Brooklyn had her 18th Month Appointment this past Friday and she is developing wonderfully! She now weighs 22lb, 8 oz (25%) and is 32.5 in (75%). She is growing and going. It is pretty amazing that in just the last month or so, she has been saying all sorts of words and repeating everything we say; it has become so much easier to communicate and understand her....fun times!!
We have begun to do more "time-out" with her for discipline and that will remain work in progress. She is such a delight and you can really start to see her independence coming.
She will not go back until she is 2!! Oh my!!
