In Memory of Cason

A college friend and fellow teammate lost her 20 month old son exactly a year ago today. It was by far the most tragic and difficult funeral I have ever experienced or care to again.

During my drive and prayer time this morning, I broke down uncontrollably as I prayed. Our hearts, prayers and support go out to Heather and her family, not just today, but every day.

And in honor of sweet Cason, we had spaghetti for dinner (his favorite)!!

Getting Closer

Well, my most recent appointment for Cayleigh and myself was rather uneventful, even though I am now on my bi-weekly visits. My blood pressure was only slightly on the high side (shocking considering the day I had with one of my "tough" students who will definitely put me into labor before my due date). Cayleigh's heart was beating strong at 136 and she had the hiccups. I have lost 1 pound since my last visit, leaving me with a total weight gain of 16 pounds now.....oh boy!!

32 weeks along with Baby Hein #2

Reaching my 32nd week, I am feeling pretty good. I am not sure my skin can stretch anymore than it already has but like Aaron asks me every time I complain about something: "Why did you get pregnant again, these were all your complaints last time?!?" And it is true, I feel exactly the same way I did with B, pretty uncomfortable, but I am not sure any pregnancy is comfortable! My 50 minute commute each way to work now has made things a bit more difficult because I am sitting for so long, so we shall see how it all goes in these remaining weeks.

They could not accommodate my schedule for the next appointment, so I will return in 3 weeks and I am pretty sure at that point, delivery and progress will be discussed in more detail!

We are sooooo looking forward to Miss Cayleigh's arrival now. Aaron is painting her room this weekend to get things situated once again for another sweet Baby Girl Hein :)

Spring Creek Play Ground

A Celebratory Weekend

Saturday and Sunday were filled with birthdays!!

We spent much of the mornings for both days working in and around the house. Aaron planted Purple Fountain Grass along the right side of the house to help create an eye-pleasing barrier between our property and the "nothingness!" Brooklyn and I ran a few errands and worked on organizing some more areas of the house.

Our new bedroom furniture was delivered on Saturday afternoon....YEAH, no more preggo momma sleeping on a mattress on the floor!! Then, we headed to Macy's to order our MASSIVE couch for the upstairs game room and met Nana and Papa to pick up our new breakfast table.

We headed to a late dinner for Nana's birthday and had a wonderful time visiting, even though the "new try" Mexican restaurant was sub par :(

Sunday was cleaning, more decorating and hanging pictures. A slow, but steady progress to make it our home. We still have a very long to-do list with painting more rooms and so on and so forth, but the feeling of everything being in complete chaos for Mommy is getting better.

Dinner with Uncle Dan to celebrate his 30th birthday!!! The cousins had a great time eating and running around the BBQ place.

It was nice to feel a sense of accomplishment with the house and also get a break from it all by celebrating two very special birthdays with family.

A glimpse of some areas...more to come...forgot to take pictures of B's room...

Shelving unit up and organized for the playroom (more organizing and pictures to be hung)

New bedroom furniture (painting and curtains to be hung)

Downstairs family room (more pictures to be hung on opposite walls)

Kitchen (countertops to be changed and more decorating)

Formal dining room (painting and more decorating)

Brooklyn's 2nd Birthday

Brooklyn turned 2 on September 3rd....WOW!! She had her check-up with the pediatrician and all is well. She weighs 27 lbs (60th percentile) and is 36 inches tall (90th percentile). She's got her mother's "thickness" and her father's height; what a combo!?! She is totally amazing and is non-stop. She has certainly progressed in language development and so much more. It is fun watching her grow :)

She had her Minnie Mouse Birthday Party this past Saturday at Nana and Papa de Wolfe's house. It was so fabulous!! Brunch and cake, good times and lots of little ones everywhere. Brooklyn wore a handmade Minnie Mouse jumper from her Gamma Hein, had a delicious homemade Minnie cake and cookies (favors) from her Nana de Wolfe and a personal Minnie cake from her Mommy.

She got TONS of cute toys and clothes! We are so blessed by all the love that surrounds her and our family. Another wonderful and happy birthday for our sweet rascal, Brooklyn Grace!!

Brooklyn's personal Minnie cake that she wanted no part of!!

Brooklyn wanted no part of her cake or blowing ou the candle so Mommy got stuck doing all that; nice face from her the whole time too!!

The video was a bit cut off because Daddy really struggled with managing the iTouch and taking good pictures at the same time....that's why there are no close-ups or really good pictures of her. Oops!! guess he's fired for all future birthday parties!

Gampa's 50th Birthday

We celebrated a weekend of festivities for Gampa's 50th birthday! On Saturday night, the Hein Klan headed to the Mesquite Rodeo for some bull riding and BBQ! The food was good and as always, the company and entertainment was great! All the kiddos really enjoyed the atmosphere this year and loved seeing all the animals. And during the course of the night, each of the kids were displayed on the big screens from scanning the crowd :)

Sunday church service and then Fish Fry time! (Two weekends prior to Gampa's actual birthday, all the guys went down to Galveston for off-shore fishing. They caught shark, trout, and got stung by jellyfish...hehe!!) Anyhow, grilled shark is amazing :)
Again, just good times, laughs and yummy food with family!
