Checkin' In

Talk about being busy! No excuse, I know!

Daddy and I are back to our home improvement ways and have been making several changes around here. I will share pictures soon. We are going on vacation together (just the two of us!!!) at the end of the week and staying at a Resort and Spa off Lake Travis near Austin, TX. This mommy is so ready! We kick off our time together at the Ranger game on Wednesday night and end with the Cowboys/Bears game on Monday night!

Brooklyn is in love with school and all her friends! She adores Mrs. Shirley and Mrs. Misty and looks forward to going every time. She has also started gymnastics and really enjoys that also! We are staying super busy now that the weather is a bit nicer outside; trips to the park, zoo, museum, walks, riding on the bike, etc. Brooklyn is becoming the best big sister and loves to get Cayleigh to "chase" her....it's hilarious.

Cayleigh girl is growing like a weed and is all over the place! She is such a little stinker and gets into EVERYTHING! She is now pulling up and cruising along the fireplace and couch, so the Trouble is only going to intensify here soon! Her right eye has not fully cleared up as we had hoped, so she is scheduled for surgery this next Tuesday; prayers please.

Princess Birthday Party

Our beloved princess Brooklyn turned 3 on Monday and had her royal bash on Saturday! It was such a fabulous party and this Mommy loved every second of it; watching friends and family gather at our home, kiddos playing and running around, everyone celebrating with us! Brooklyn got some much needed clothes and TONS of Barbie dolls with every accessory imaginable!!! Oh boy!

Gamma made Brooklyn's princess gown, Nana made the princess cake and Mommy made the princess bow and personal cake for B. Unfortunately, her large princess balloon would not blow up and I was a horrible picture-taker and forgot to take pictures of Princess B with everyone who came to the party :( But, we are overwhelmed by the amount of love our friends and family have for our Brooklyn Grace!

First Day Story

After I picked Brooklyn up from preschool today, I asked her how her day went once we got in the car...."It was good, Mommy. They kept telling me to 'shhhh' when I was clapping loudly with the music."

Hehe!! Oh boy!!

She seemed to have a really good day and raved about being there, what they did and a girl named Sophia that she played with. She received a birthday certificate and got a sticker on her folder for the day. Her daily sheet had -happy, -cooperative, -busy, -friendly, and -CHATTY circled under disposition!! I'm not sure whether to be proud or scared about this school year!!

Preschool 2012

Brooklyn started preschool for the first time today at First Baptist Church in Keller and was very excited, to say the least! She helped me pack her lunch this morning (bologna sandwich, yogurt and goldfish) and was all smiles. We had already met her teachers and saw her classroom this past Friday morning. She got to play with some of her classmates and as always seemed very comfortable. She typically does not shy away from "new" things.

So, off we went this morning! It was fun to see her find her name tag in the hallway and meet another little girl outside before walking in and leaving me. Yep, she is just left me and didn't even bother to say goodbye to me, hug me or nothing :( She just strolled into her classroom and began playing at the floor. No worries for this Mommy; it was a proud moment for me on the other side of the classroom door!!

Birthday Brooklyn

Happy 3rd birthday to my sweet, smart and very silly Brooklyn Grace. Daddy and I reminisced this morning before you woke about the excitement we felt about your arrival just 3 short years ago. You have grown and  matured so much here recently and are the best big sister to Cayleigh! We love every inch of you, who you are and who you will become!

Baby Rhino

Yesterday we went to the Fort Worth Zoo, renewed our membership and headed straight for the rare and newest addition....Baby Rhinoceros! Brooklyn ohhhh and ahhh'ed over it. Mommy Shanti was letting her baby girl be in the water for the first time since she was born two and a half weeks ago. It was difficult to get a good picture of her, but it was very sweet to visit. It was a nice outing for all of us and we are sure to go back soon to see the baby again!
