Easter 2014

I happen to be changing Morgan in her room this morning when Brooklyn woke and walked out of her bedroom. I greeted her by saying, "Happy Easter!" and she smiled real big and replied, "Oh yay; can I move the stone now from Jesus' tomb?" It was an uplifting feeling to jump start a wonderful Easter holiday of worship and family.

Of course, Jesus' tomb stone was already moved when Brooklyn came downstairs to see it.

The girls then got to search for their Easter baskets that were hidden (a tradition that Aaron grew up doing). Breakfast, church and lots of family and FUN at Gamma and Gampa Hein's house. Yummy food, an egg hunt and confetti eggs made for the best way to spend the holiday.

Carrot Cake Cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and handmade candy carrots
(So delicious! And making them reminded me of my Aunt Joan Marie and how we had made a carrot cake together one summer, enjoyed the weather while it cooled to come back inside to find her dog had ate the whole thing!!)

Springtime Fun

Spring means the start of lots of outdoor activities and fun times. This past Saturday, our community was having an Easter Egg Hunt and some fun little games for kids at a local park. We met up with Aaron's brother Nick, Amanda and cousins Sydney and Claire and enjoyed some activities and dashing for eggs! The girls had a blast, got lots of little goodies, pet a police horse and even got to go inside a fire truck.

Then, later that evening, Brooklyn and Cayleigh had a date with Daddy. Our local Chick-Fil-A was hosting a Daddy Daughter Date Night. It turned out to be a really cute time for Aaron and the biggin's because they got roses and dinner, took silly pictures in a photo booth and enjoyed a horse-drawn carriage ride in the parking lot. I wish I could have been there to simply capture it all with my camera.

4 Month Check-up

Morgan turned 4 months old yesterday and also had her well child appointment in the morning. She now weighs 10lbs, 5oz (1%) and is 23.5 in long (13%). She is very tiny. I spoke with the pediatrician about her spitting up throughout the entire day, both liquid as well as the curdled milk look, and how the volume of it has gradually increased over the past 2 months. She becomes uncomfortable at points and when held to be consoled, she ultimately burps followed by a good drenching of her stomach all over your shoulder. Not fun for anyone :(
It is pretty obvious that she has reflux, so she will start Zantac this week in hopes of relieving her discomfort, lessening some of the spit-up and helping her gain some more weight. She will then go for another weight check in 4 weeks. If we are not noticing improvements with everything, an ultrasound will be scheduled to check out what's going on.

Otherwise, she is cute as a button and still smiles through it all, just a happy girl! She is all about putting her hands in her mouth. She sleeps 11-12 hours at night and still fits in her 3 month and 3-6 month clothes.

Rolling Rascal

Morgan figured out how to roll from back to front late last week. And it's sly for sure!

Disney On Ice

friend in the moms group had casually asked me if we were going to Disney On Ice and I really hadn't even considered it. Needless to say, we ended up getting tickets for myself, Brooklyn and Cayleigh to go on Saturday. And it turned out to be wonderful!

Gamma Hein watched Morgan for the afternoon since Aaron traveled down to Houston. With the Final Four going on in Dallas along with other festivities, we arrived at American Airline Center pretty early to make sure we could get parking. We walked around for a bit and then found our seats. We were fairly close and had a great view of everything. My sweet biggins' were so well behaved (nice rarity!) and were enthralled in the show. Mickey and Minnie Mouse were the "hosts" of it, so they loved that and they got to see all the princesses and many more of their favorite characters. It really was a treat! The girls just loved it and I found it entertaining as well!

Here we are before the show began.

Quick Visit

My brother, Jason, and handsome nephew Nolan came in to town for a few days this week. Jason was here for Opening Game for the Rangers and Nolan was along for the ride! It was so good to see them both and get to spend some time with them. I drove down to Grand Prairie Monday morning to tailgate with Jason before the Ranger game started at 1:05. He and my dad had tickets. And then, he, my mom, Nolan, Pam Sanders (Jen's mom) and Audrey (Doug and Kelli's daughter) came over to our house on Tuesday for lunch and a little play time.

Brooklyn decided to take pictures of everyone making silly faces:

We are so glad we got to see them, even if it was just a quick visit. We are looking forward to our trip up to Pittsburgh this summer!!
