Downtown Arts

Another eventful day this weekend. We went to downtown Fort Worth for the Arts Fesitival for a few hours. It was fun and exhausting at the same time....our life on a daily basis with two kiddos!

We did plenty of walking to see all the little activities, music and art. We first stopped by the kids area and Brooklyn got her name written in Japanese letters and she got to color on a cardboard rocketship.

While we walked the streets, we were stopped in our tracks by music! Brooklyn loved watching the men play.
Once we made it to the main square, we stopped to eat some food and rest before continuing. Brooklyn wanted a corndog to eat and she ate a foot long corndog!!

More fascinating art and walking, then on our way home! It was a nice treat.

Enjoying a concert at the square.

What's Up?!?

Life is definitely a bit 'out-of-whack' right now for the family. We decided it was best for the girls and I to stay at my parents house throughout the week to cut down on my commute and eliminating my mom's commute to our house altogether (saving us all money in gas too). Originally, my mom was leaving Grand Prairie super early to drive to our house so that I could leave early to drive to GP for work on time....ha, tag! This was to keep the girls in their own environment and not spending hours in the car.

Well, we are now in Plan B, so packing for a week's time for 3 girls is quite the challenge. Needless to say, I have forgotten something different every week! We are also missing Daddy these days: hence my dying love for our weekends as a family right now. Daddy has been staying with us (at my parents) one night a week to see the girls and break up my dreadful work week. He is a busy man at the house by himself, though. The playroom is now painted a light blue with a new ceiling fan. Yard work, laundry and house cleaning get taken care of also :)

Things are hectic and a little trying, but we are grateful it is only temporary! 7 more weeks!!
It is also very nice to know the girls are in great hands with their Nana de Wolfe while Mommy finishes out the school year.
Little and BIG froggy

As for Brooklyn, her forehead is healing well. She is growing up! Her speech and vocabulary is getting extensive and she is very smart. She still loves Mickey Mouse, playing with her babies and reading. Potty accidents are very rare these days. She is extremely independent ("I can do it all by myself.") and very adventurous....always branching out with doing things at the playground or with meeting other children. She has developed a bit of a temper and we are working on calming down during her tantrum phrases. She is hit or miss with her naps these days. And she likes to interact with her sissy a lot these days. She sings, talks, hands toys to Cayleigh and is very helpful when it comes to things with her sissy!

She wants to blow bubbles every chance she can get.
She loves to play her instruments.

Cayleigh girl is a squealing maniac. She doesn't just babble, she screams! She is filling out nicely and growing well. Her right eye still has an occasional oozy day and spitting up is minor. She blows bubbles, smiles and giggles, grabs to put everything in her mouth and rolled over for Mommy and Daddy last weekend, but no action since. She is on to solids and likes carrots and peas so far (must be Mommy's fresh cooking...hehe). And she will let you know when you are not giving her enough attention for sure!

Sissy B thought I needed a bandband like hers.
You've got to love this face!

Spring Saturday

We had a fabulous family day today! The girls were up a bit earlier than usual, so we decided to just 'get going' at a fast pace, head to Fort Worth and visit the Botanical Gardens. The weather was amazing here this morning. We could not have asked for a more perfect day to go. Arriving around 9am, there were very few people there yet besides the picture-takers and we walked and walked and walked. The flowers were gorgeous and B loved leading the way and stopping to admire everything! Two weddings were taking place there as well and we got to see one bride taking photos before the ceremony.
There were tons of butterflies.

Daddy makes me laugh ALL the time!

Mommy and her girls!

Afterwards, we grabbed some lunch and went to Central Market for some fresh fruit, desserts and fish for dinner......yummy! We rested at the house for a little while before heading a few yards away to fish at the pond next to the house.

It sure feels good to be together as a family on the weekends!

Easter Weekend

What an exciting and packed Easter weekend! Daddy and Mommy both had Good Friday off, so as I blogged before, we were in GP for Opening Day at the Ballpark.

On Saturday, majority of the Hein family, my parents and brother came over for a family egg hunt and lunch. Cousins, Sydney, Remi and Charlie joined Brooklyn in searching for eggs that the Easter bunny left in our backyard. They had such a great time and it was such a blessing to have family at our house for the occasion.

Opening the eggs after finding them all.

Cayleigh girl was napping during our photos.....fine by Mommy!
Gamma Hein made personalized bags for each of the kids with goodies inside and Nana de Wolfe had baskets full of awesome stuff for Brooklyn and Cayleigh!!

We headed to 9:30 service at church on Easter Sunday with two very tired girls. Lots of rest and inside time as it rained much of Sunday afternoon. Mommy is now enjoying another day with her girls today!

Rangers Opening Day

We were fortunate enough to get tickets to Opening Day at the Ballpark this year! Go Rangers! Aaron and I sat about 6 rows up on the third baseline....very nice! Gampa Hein volunteered to watch the girls for us and is still standing to tell the story :)
My brother, Jason, flew down from PA for opening weekend with tickets to Friday through Sunday's games with my dad.

Before Friday's game, the four of us had lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings and roamed around the ballpark before game time. Good game, good company and good beverages!

Wish Away

Years from now I will look back on this time and it will merely be a blink of a memory. But right now, this span of time seems like an eternity. Commuting in traffic, being away from my girls all day, packing for an entire week at a time for the girls and myself to stay at my parents house without Aaron, dealing with disrespectful students and then coming home to a terrible two year old....I'm too tired to go on. I wish this time away! That is so wrong.
Years from now I will look back on this time and feel strong.

Cousin Pictures

During Spring Break, my sister-in-law, Jen, and the de Wolfe girls came to Texas for a visit. It was so nice for all the girls to get to see each other again and have a few visits of play time!! Nana was thoughtful enough to schedule the girls to have pictures done....they turned out really cute. B was not exactly the most photogenic smiler amongst all of them, but we definitely got some keepers.

My sweet neices, Addy and Kate!
