Cowtown Marathon 40th Year

Aaron and I ran the 40th Anniversary Cowtown Half Marathon this past Sunday. The weather was phenomenal! God gave us great weather and the health to run the race without walking, finishing with a great time of 2:07:20. Our average pace was 9:43 min/miles. We had a great time and the kids were well taken care of by Papa.

Valentine's 2018

Valentine's Day fell on a Wednesday, so each of the girls had parties at the preschool and elementary. Brooklyn's party was 50's theme, so she got to wear a poodle skirt that I made her and she coordinated her valentine box to be a old fashion television. She had a soda float and played minute-to-win-it games.

Cayleigh rotated through various fun stations for her party, making slime, 3-D shapes with heart marshmallows, eating a cookie and so forth.

Each of the girls unloaded when they got home to sort through their valentines and goodies. I made chocolate covered strawberries and heart-shaped homemade pizzas for dinner before we headed to Wednesday night choir at church.

I had ordered special donuts for Aaron and took them to his work earlier in the morning. Everyone in the operations meeting got to enjoy them, but Daddy stole the show this year, surprising me with STUNNING diamond earrings and another yummy edible arrangement for all of us! He is just the absolute BEST!!! I mentioned to him the night before that I randomly calculated our Valentine's and it was half our lives: 17 together! Pretty crazy when we sat there and thought about it, reminiscing about years past.

He completely spoils me!

It was another day in love with the man of my dreams. Another day full of memories made, smiles exchanged and kisses given. Thank you God for each and every one of our days.

Fun School Functions

The days are getting busy again. Some fun functions at the school and now soccer season starting back up in a week; it's exciting times. B and C had S.T.E.M. Night (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) at their school and Brooklyn was chosen to present her recycled project. She got to explain her processes involved with building her "money bank" in a room full of fellow students, parents and teachers. She did a great job! Cayleigh got to show us her science journal and we got to watch her problem-solving during the making of her Rube Goldberg machine on the projector screen.

Just two days later, Aaron was Watch D.O.G.S. dad (Dads of Great Students) for a day at the school. The big girls got to introduce themselves and Aaron on the announcements that morning and get to see him throughout the day helping in their classrooms. He also helped in other classrooms, monitored during lunch time and moved some heavy supplies for the office. It was the 100th day of school also and kindergarteners got to make their own 100-something shirt. Cayleigh chose a horse with 100 strands of mane that she cut out.

The very next day was the boosterthon fun run for the elementary. Unfortunately, the weather was projected to be cold and raining, so they moved it inside and made the laps to be ran into exercises instead. It was not nearly as exciting nor viewer-friendly. Cayleigh had a good time, but Brooklyn didn't get to participate because of her broken arm.

Harlem Globetrotters

Papa took the girls and myself to see the Harlem Globetrotters when they were in town! We had such a fun time! In fact, I probably had more fun than the girls. We laughed hysterically at the silliness of all the pranks and goofy behavior and awed over the really cool tricks and drunks they did. They raved about all the parts of the "game." Afterwards, we stopped over at Pioneer Plaza to look at the cattle drive statues.
