Weekly Check-up

37 weeks along and I am now at weekly appointments with Zachary. Everything is still going well. His heart rate was a strong 135 bpm and still head down. I am almost 2cm dilated and 50% effaced, so there could be a possibility (hopefully) he makes his arrival earlier than August 16th! We shall see. Next appointment is scheduled for next Wednesday.

Summer Mini Stay-cation

Since a long car ride to a vacation spot was pretty much out of the equation, Aaron and I decided to have a quick stay-cation with the girls and go somewhere local for a packed two days of FUN! The Gaylord Texan in Grapevine has an awesome new water park, Paradise Springs, and was featuring Alice in Wonderland for their summer theme at the massive hotel. Aaron took off Thursday and Friday and we packed in every activity we could. We arrived early Thursday morning and immediately headed over to the water park. It was a huge hit with lots of slides, water features, lazy river and pool areas. We spent several hours and had lunch out there.

Brooklyn did the zip line into the water!

Afterwards, we changed in our hotel room and headed over to Chuck-E-Cheese for game time. Oh how fun it is when you go on a weekday afternoon and no one is there!

Grapevine Mills was next for some new tennis shoes for the upcoming school year and an early dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. The girls also rode the carousel.

After our early dinner, we went back to the Gaylord to walk around and enjoy all the Alice in Wonderland features. It was really cute.

We got our pj's on and settled back into our room for a movie and some delicious room service desserts!

It was a fabulous day! The girls were fast asleep once the lights went out. The following morning, we had breakfast in the room and then headed back to the water park for another morning of fun in the sun. We walked over to view the lake and after a couple more hours, changed and went out to a late lunch on our way back home.

My goodness, the girls had a blast and so did Aaron and I! It was such a fun time even though we didn't go far and it was only two days; the girls thought it was great! Such sweethearts God has blessed us with!

I would say we officially wore all of ourselves out with a late afternoon view of this...

Showering Our Little Man

This little man has stolen the hearts of many including every girl in this house! We all can not wait to meet Zach (Morgan asks me nearly everyday if she gets to that day!) I love that they love him already and have been able to be such a close part of his growing so far. This is him at 36 weeks and he is measuring 5lbs, 11oz. Feeling extremely blessed to have a healthy boy inside of me, but definitely super anxious and excited to have him in my arms!

Over the weekend, we were completely showered with love, support and necessities. My sweet friend, Holly, along with her mom and my mom threw us an amazing baby shower! I'm talking AMAZING! The food and desserts and decorations were wonderful and handmade with lots of love. Friends and family from near and far came to be a part of the celebration and just overwhelmed us with great gifts! Jen and Emme flew in from Pittsburgh as a HUGE surprise and it brought pure joy to my heart to have them be a part of the weekend! It was the best time!

I failed to take pictures with and of all the fabulous people that came and for that I am so sad, but here are a few of the shower itself.

Sunday evening, a sweet neighbor got the other moms on our block together and threw me a nice little gathering as well. Another surprise. Again, so grateful for all the adorable outfits, diapers and other items. I couldn't help but reflect on all of the love so many people have shown our family and little Zach! It's just so incredible!

4th of July

These summer days are long and busy, so the girls are pretty spent by days end. This 4th of July holiday, Morgan was running a fever, so Daddy took just the two big girls to enjoy some local fireworks at the beginning of the weekend. We hung around the house and worked on some projects and swam at the pool. Come the actual 4th, our neighborhood decided to put together a kids bike parade that morning. Such a great idea! Lots of neighbors gathered at our park and the kids had a bike parade with their decorated bikes. They had water balloons, three-legged race, pinatas, snacks and drinks; very cool way to celebrate as a community!
