The reality of three girls under the age of 5 is joyous, entertaining, hectic, stressful and down right exhausting!! This mommy has learned....."it's fine!"
The reality of 3:
Getting loaded and unloaded in the car can actually take longer than getting all of them dressed.
Going to the grocery store for just a few items and no one has to pee or has peed is only then considered a "quick" trip.
You are NEVER early for things anymore. Early is arriving right on time or a few minutes after.
Immediately grab an item on your list and hand it to each kid once you enter Walmart to keep them entertained or you will have to stop 80 times and do the "ohhhhh, that is cool" on every isle.
When one child insists on bringing a doll or book in the car, expect the others to insist on the same thing.
When mommy has to potty and wants to be alone for a minute, you are only garenteed A MINUTE, so you better make it fast.
A compromise between a cartoon (kids show) and the news (Mom's show) is the cooking channel.
Double your personal portion at meals (if you're eating something different from the kids) because they will want to eat what you're having.
When you are feeding the baby in her room, that room gets transformed into a dance hall, karaoke stage, hide and seek game, etc.
When Barbie goes missing, check the siblings beds and closets first because they probably are hoarding them from the others.
Bath time, bed time, pretty much any time, just got SIGNIFICANTLY longer.
If Daddy needs to run errands it is mandatory that he take at least one child. If he takes two, it's like free time for Mommy with only one to deal with.
Pulling out old baby toys just became everyone's favorite toys to play with again.
Sometimes, you just have to "lay down the law"......literally, Mommy needs to lay down.
A personal pep talk has become part of your morning shower routine.
Cheap clothes for the oldest just won't cut it anymore. Fork out the cash for the expensive stuff because they've got to hold up to the wear and tear of 3 kids.
When you ask, "who tooted?" the oldest children will definitely blame it on the one who can't talk yet.
When the lady in front of you in line is buying a pregnancy test, you begin to cry for her.
You wear sensible shoes everyday because "meltdown mode" can happen at any point and I like to be prepared to run.
When they come downstairs fully dressed in an outfit you would NEVER piece together, you don't complain, you're just grateful you didn't have to do it.
You request refills on the prescription that the pediatrician gives for one sick child because in a week the next one will be sick, followed by another week when the final one will be sick.
That moment when you are halfway to a play date and realize that you forgot to put on deodorant, but thank goodness you remembered to brush your teeth.
You have totally embrassed the beauty of the "natural look," or at least that's what you tell yourself every morning in the mirror because your make-up is just a dust-collector.
Outings to Home Depot require multiple carts. Two kids in "Mommy's cart" and a kid and supplies in "Daddy's cart."
The first kid didn't try their first sucker until age 3 and a half and the second one at age 2. The third will be lucky to make it to their first birthday.
Can you count time in the car seat driving the other siblings to their activities and school as tummy time for the third? If so, we are getting some serious infant exercises accomplished.
The kids have to be divied up between BOTH sets of grandparents so you can have a weekend getaway with just you and your husband.
It's only when you have made it through an entire day AND night without someone crying that you can brag to your husband about how awesome you are.
