Counting Down

21 more days until the due date of Little Miss Hein #3. But, as we all know that date certainly means nothing at all! A check-up with my Dr yesterday revealed that I am measuring right at 37 weeks, I am 1cm dialated and 50% effaced. The undeniable and repetitive swelling (definitely with both Brooklyn and Cayleigh) in my lower legs and feet is ever so present and noticeable once again. By far, I have gained the most weight with this pregnancy at 24lbs.....yikes!

I am desperately praying that our newest sweetheart comes all on her own. I was induced with both B and C and really want to experience "the beginning happenings" without it being forced on my body. However, I am a very impatient (and super uncomfortable at this point) person and certainly don't want to endure this fatness any longer than 21 more days! Ha! So, just hoping that my body, our baby girl and my heart are all on the same page when it comes to this!

C's 2 Year Check-Up

Cayleigh had her 2 year well visit appointment this morning with a new pediatrician. It went better than I could have asked for! Cayleigh girl was calm, receptive, smiling and chatty during all the measuring, poking and talking to by the nurse and doctor. She currently weighs 26.5 lbs (46%) and is 35" tall (86%). She is right on track with development and is definitely cutting her molars on both sides. I figured this since sleeping hasn't been as great here recently.  She was up to date on all her immunizations, so it was just the flu mist today!! Yay!

On a side note, I mentioned new pediatrician because I did decide to switch after Brooklyn's 4 year appointment. I will spare everyone the specific details, but their previous pediatrician didn't exactly have the best bed-side manners and after too many occasions of him "rubbing me the wrong way," Aaron and I decided to make a switch. (Nothing ever negative towards the girls, just some unnecessary cockiness and lack of helpfulness.) Anyways, it was the first time C didn't scream at an appointment, so that was a good sign. Guess she didn't like the last doctor either! Dr. Evans was extremely personable, sweet, attentive and overall, I really liked her. The office staff was even nicer than the last and much less wait time. I am feeling relieved at how it is all working out. Sometimes, you just have to go with your mommy instincts and that's exactly what I did!

C's Elmo Party

Cayleigh is a big fan of Elmo, so she wanted her 2nd birthday party to be an Elmo Party. I must admit, she was an adorable Elmo!! Gamma Hein made her outfit and it was just precious! It was just family and my best friend that we invited, so it was pretty low key and relaxed with all the cousins just playing upstairs.

Since I wanted to keep with red, orange and pink colors to go with a girly Elmo thesm, all the food was red, orange and pink in color. I did find a really cute Cookie Monster cupcake on pinterest that I tweaked and copied to serve as dessert and Cayleigh had her own small Elmo cake. The cupcakes, however, were a bit labor intensive for this prego mommy and I was completely pooped after completing them and the Elmo cake; phew!

"Me like cookie!"

The Kid Table

After singing Happy Birthday twice (because I told Cayleigh to sing it before I had grabbed her cake and then all the kids started....ha!) It was time to open gifts and play some more afterwards!

It was another wonderful time with much to be thankful for. Our family of 5 is blessed with wonderful, supportive friends and family!

Happy 2nd Birthday Cayleigh!

Our cute little rascal, Cayleigh girl turned 2 today! Oh my! She has developed such a unique and funny personality these days and she definitely keeps us all on our toes. Her goofy and playful behavior paired with some of the things she says sometimes can just turn a frown upside down in a moments time! It is also very interesting to see how "older" she acts since she has a big sister to observe and follow after. We just love her to pieces!

Cayleigh was fully aware and excited it was her birthday today and has been singing "Happy Birthday" to herself for a week now. Her and Brooklyn played all morning and then we met Daddy for lunch.  After a nap, it was more silliness around the house. We had parmesan chicken and baked sweet potatoes for dinner with mini cupcakes (birthday girl's pick) for dessert!! She is very much looking forward to her Elmo birthday party on Sunday.

35 Weeks

This past Saturday marked 35 weeks along with our little Miss Hein #3! I am anxious for these final weeks to continue to fly by as they feel like they have started doing. Everything went well at my check-up last week and I have been feeling much better since the "episode." Baby's heart rate was a steady 139 and I am stretched to the brim. Dr said that she is fully extended across my belly for sure; running low on real-estate! According to mypregnancy app, she weighs around 5.25lbs and is 18 in long. My next appointment will begin my internal checks for any dilation and such.

We are nearly finished with painting the nursery and my mother-in-law is going to help me reupholster our twice-used crib bedding!! It is time for a little change :)
I guess it's getting to be crunch time, so I should really get on the ball!!

Curious George

The Curious George exhibit is at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History right now, so we went this morning to with our friends, Pam Sanders and her granddaughter Audrey. Once we finally arrived (traffic was horrendous getting there), we had such a great time exploring and even got to meet Curious George himself! All the girls enjoyed being "curious!"

Cayleigh had no problems with the statue, but wanted no part of sitting with the real George!!

Ha! Look at Cayleigh's face!!
We did head downstairs to continue our exploration in the Children's Museum area. And by lunch time, the weather had warmed up a bit, so we sat out on the patio, ate and then headed home.

Audrey is definitely a speed shopper!

Pumpkins and Halloween

The Sunday before Halloween, Daddy took the girls to get pumpkins to decorate and carve. That evening, Cayleigh colored her small pumpkin and Brooklyn decided to draw a face to carve and then color on her pumpkin. Of course, they had a blast doing this!

That night, they both wanted to see their pumpkins "lit up."

The excitement behind Halloween night and trick-or-treating was building all week long! Since B was familiar with what the holiday entailed, Cayleigh followed right along! Brooklyn decided to be "Jake" from Jake and The Neverland Pirates (young Peter Pan type character) and Cayleigh decided to be Minnie Mouse. We walked around our new neighborhood for a little bit and then came back home, changed, and passed out candy. The evening was gorgeous. I think B liked handing out candy even more than getting it! It was so fun to watch them and their excitement this year. I am really looking forward to Christmas!
