Prairie Lights Walk

The Sunday before Thanksgiving, we did our second annual Christmas Lights fun walk in Grand Prairie. The weather was so much nicer this year than last which was a huge blessing. Nana and Papa joined us and we all had a great time. Let the Christmas season begin!

Outdoor/Camping Birthday Party

While the weather took a nasty turn and we were unable to have our party outdoors, Cayleigh and Morgan celebrated their 4th and (upcoming) 2nd birthdays together! It was an outdoor/camping themed party with hot dogs, Frito pie, animal crackers, smore's pops and tree trunk chocolate cake. The girls had a complete blast celebrating with friends and family and looked so adorable in their matching plaid button-up shirts and vests. Morgan was especially in tune with the fact that it was "her" party and tore threw her dirt pudding cup and presents. It was amazing be surrounded by such love for Cayleigh and Morgan!

Happy 4th Birthday, Cayleigh Girl

Our sweet and goofy Cayleigh girl turned 4 on Saturday! This girl couldn't be any funnier (just like her Daddy) and is such a beautiful blend of a supportive little sister and protective big sister. I can't believe how big she has gotten in just the last few months; it's like she hit a serious growth spurt. And as always, her crazy curly hair is both adorable and a complete mess!

 She was thrilled to be out at the ranch for her special day, but since we were able to come home early, she chose Chili's for her birthday dinner! We had such a great time celebrating her and she chose the skillet chocolate chip cookie for dessert.

Ranch Weekend

This past weekend we drove out to the Ranch so Daddy could deer hunt. We left Thursday evening and the girls were so thrilled to be going. It was quite the mound of luggage and food for the 5 of us and Daisy for just a short trip. Friday morning, Daddy was up early and sitting upstairs while the rest of us slept in a bit, ate breakfast and got dressed. The big girls were itching to go upstairs to "hunt." Not but 10 minutes after we all went upstairs, Aaron spotted a buck at the North feeder and we were covering our ears as he took a shot. We waited a bit and then went searching around the property for it, but no luck at all.

 Daisy, however, found a skunk and got sprayed with a fabulous perfume, yuck! After about an hour of walking the property, we went out on the pond to relax and do a little fishing. The weather was absolutely gorgeous.

We drove into town and got pizza and snacks to eat at a little park for lunch. And then it was nap time for Mommy and Morgan. The biggin's played with toys and sat upstairs with Daddy some more during the afternoon. Movies and sandwiches while Daddy had an evening watch. But no ranch trip is complete without a fire and smore's. Unfortunately, it was a cloudy evening so we didn't get to see the beautiful night sky that you normally can enjoy out there.

 Saturday morning brought only does and a small buck, so we packed up early and came home to enjoy the rest of Cayleigh's birthday at the house. It was a quick trip with no luck, but nice to have a bit of family time together.
