Date Night

Brooklyn and Cayleigh had someone very special take them out tonight...Daddy! We made reservations at Chick-fil-a for their annual Daddy Daughter Date Night again and of course the girls were super excited! Aaron picked up some flowers for his big girls and I separated them out to make tiny bouquets. He pulled the car out and rang the doorbell to pick them up. I know they are having a wonderful time at the Ice Princess Wonderland dinner with their daddy. And we sure are lucky ladies to have him in our life!

Egg Scramble

We went over to Bear Creek Park this morning for their annual Easter Egg Hunt. The weather was beautiful and the girls had a blast! It was really fun to watch Morgan picking up the eggs too! She was not fond of the Easter bunny, but did have a special egg in her basket so she got a stuffed animal for a prize.

Afterwards, we went home for lunch and then back out for Brooklyn's soccer game. Life outdoors is getting busy again!

Silly Sisters

I love the way the girls love each other. It brings pure joy to see them help one another, giggle together, and hug and kiss on each other...my girls love BIG! It swells my heart and floods me with tears of happiness. I pray that through the trials and triumphs of life, they continue to love each other BIG!

M's 15 Month Check-Up

Morgan had her 15 month well visit today and she is doing good. She weighs 20lb 12 oz (42%) and is 30.5in long (47%). She is a little congested right now, so her appetite has not been great lately. She also is STILL trying to cut her top front teeth. The pediatrician said that she is really swollen and was surprised that they still were not in yet, but they look like they will come at the exact same time.

Morgan is a walking, blabbing machine who loves to sing and dance. I bought her her first "real" pair of tennis shoes about two weeks ago and she loves to unstrap them every time we get in the car. She is hilariously goofy and has the biggest smile of any toothless child!

Icemaggedon Half Marathon

Back in the beginning of December, Aaron signed us both up to run the Fort Worth Cowtown Half Marathon. It was Aaron's second year to run it and my first. Little did we know I would fracture my wrist just two weeks later. I was so taken back by breaking a bone, upset, mad, paranoid, etc that I didn't do anything during the 6 weeks I had my cast on. Not my finest time. Anyways, cast free and only 5 weeks to "train" wasn't the ideal situation, but we managed to get two long runs in just before running yesterday. 

Our weather has been as consistent as my running! Ha! Crazy ice and snow, school cancellations, hours stuck in commute and then events and runs leading up to the half marathon cancelled. We were in limbo about even doing it, driving the girls to the Hein house to stay (since the roads were so bad), running in such awful conditions. They cancelled the full marathon and the ultra for yesterday, but the half was still on. Freezing drizzle and 30's! I must be honest, I was super scared about running and slipping on a random patch of ice because I would more than likely re-break my wrist. And there were those areas and it was cold and it was tough, but we did it! My goal was to just run; run the entire thing and not walk at all. My typical pace was 10 minute miles and Aaron had been running with 8:30 minute miles. He ran at my slow pace and we finished in 2:11:47. Right under 10 mins per mile and ran without ever walking! What a praise! It was awesome to have Aaron by my side and us cross the finish line together. I have no doubt that it was all mind over body and God's helping hand. 

Aaron has plans to start running a few (half and full) marathons a year and we will continue to do the Cowtown together each year. I almost forgot how good it feels to accomplish something like that.
