Ranch Turkey

This past weekend, we drove out to the ranch with the 3 girls while Zach stayed with Nana and Papa. The weather was beautiful although very windy, but what a great time we had. We arrived late on Friday night, crashed and woke up leisurely Saturday morning. We got dressed and geared up for turkey hunting. We set up a temporary blind with our new breathable camo drapes and hung out there for a short while.

Yep, napping scenery. And we did!! Napped right in the blind under the gorgeous sun.
The girls and Aaron left, filled a few feeders and ate lunch back at the house. I napped! If there was a hammock to be laid in, I may have never left! Then, Brooklyn did some target practice with her bow and arrow and we all fished for a little bit.

Cayleigh tried a few also

It always amazes me how beautiful God's creation is when we go out to the ranch. The stars, the purity of raw nature, the landscapes and even the vibrant flowers. Its a one-of-a-kind masterpiece! I can't help but be in awe at times.

Always fun to see our native Bluebonnets
We loaded up on little bit of fuel (snacks) for the road and headed back out to the blind mid-afternoon. This was a whole lot of just sitting around whispering and this round, Daddy napped! After about 2 hours with no signs of a turkey, Morgan, Cayleigh and myself headed back to the house. They began playing some games and I went back to the pond to fish some more. The girls would chat with B and Daddy over the walkie-talkie and I caught my biggest bass ever.

While I was fishing, I heard a turkey gobble. I heard it again a few minutes later, louder. Then, I heard Aaron and B call for it. I stayed put to not disrupt anything and sure enough, heard the turkey gobble again followed by a shot. I knew Aaron had taken it. I ran back to the house to grab M and C just as Brooklyn yelled over the walkie that they killed a turkey!! So fun! We ran out there to see and celebrate and everyone was very excited! This was the first time B got to experience the whole thing and she loved it! She even caught it all on video.

It was such an awesome time at the ranch! Brooklyn was beyond thrilled to be a part of it all and both Cayleigh and Morgan soaked up the experience with excitement as well. So cool!

Easter 2018

He is Risen! A beautiful morning in God's house and a fun afternoon at Gamma and Gampa's house. Good food, good laughs, good times. The kiddos did an egg hunt in the front yard and we all had a great time.

Aaron joked how we will need to recreate this family pose in another decade!

Oh, Zachary!

Spring Break, Part 2

Our trip to the Dallas Arboretum for Dallas Blooms during spring break was fabulous!! The weather couldn't have been more amazing and the flowers everywhere were so captivating. We packed a picnic lunch and sat where we had a great view of White Rock Lake. We visited the children's garden and stopped for lots of pictures (the girls feed my crazy picture obsession by stopping where they like and asking me to take their picture).

Blessed to have been able to the enjoy several hours together as a family. Here's the overload of photos:
