Cousin Sleepover

Brooklyn has been begging to have her cousins come for a sleepover, so this past Saturday we invited Sydney and Remi to stay the night at our house. They arrived in the afternoon and we stayed jam packed with activities! We walked down to our community park and played for about an hour. Zingo, hot potato, puzzles, barrel racing, drawing, playdough, blowing bubbles and baking cookies were among the various things we did. So much fun! Not to mention, just some fun craziness upstairs with their wild imaginations.

Bubble giggles!

Each kiddo got to make their own pizza for dinner and we put a mattress on the floor in Cayleigh's room for the sleepover.

Sleepover time!
The cousins were pretty pooped by the end of the day and I knew they would stay up a bit talking, so we put them to bed early and listened as they each eventually faded to snores!

Sunday morning project: helping distress a wood sign for B's room
The weekend was a complete blast! They all played so wonderfully together and we so well-behaved. We will be hosting another cousin sleepover in the future!

5 Months

Our littlest princess, Morgan, turned 5 months old this past Sunday. She is a spit-up queen, but smiles through it all! She is such a happy girl!

We stopped the Zyntac after just a week because literally every night she began to wake up crying after starting the medication. She sleeps 11-12 hours a night, so since nothing else had changed in her routine, we knew the medicine was the culprit. And sure enough, she began sleeping fine again once we stopped giving it to her. So, for the sake of sleep, we just deal with the reflux and continue to wash tons of bibs a day. She had a weight check today and is now back on the charts!!
She is 11lbs, 15 oz (2%) and 24.5 inches long. We are thrilled she is gaining and have certainly noticed here lately as her cheeks and legs are starting to plump up!

 LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her smile!!

Just look at this mess of a child!!!

Time for a Check-up

Mommy's turn:
It has been far too long....scratch that....NEVER since I have been to a dermatologist. After noticing a particular spot on my cheek that has remained scabby for quite some time now, I decided to schedule my first ever consultation to have my rosacea and sun-damaged face examined. I began to work myself up about the appointment in the last few days since skin cancer runs on my mom's side.

All in all, it went ok. The doctor didn't seem overly concerned about the spot, but went ahead and scrapped it to have it sent off for biopsy. He said my skin looks great, actually! Really?!? Total shock for me to hear since I feel disgusted by it. He did discuss my rosacea and prescribed me a low dosage prescription and wants to see me back in 3 weeks to check on how it is working out. I should hear back in about a week regarding the skin scrape. Lots of prayers that it is nothing to worry over.

Riding Lessons

Brooklyn's horse instructor, Sherry, has decided she is ready to start branching out more and begin to ride "unled!" They have done a few different things lately during lessons, including going on a trail walk and been in the indoor and outdoor arenas. Sherry has her do several things on the saddle to work on her balance and it was fun to watch B try and stand up while the horse walks.

I took a quick video of her starting to trot on Star, her horse. (The whole video wouldn't upload, so this is just a quick portion of the last part....hopefully it works.)
