It was quite the busy ending to our summer this year. The de Wolfe cousins, Addy and Kate, came to Texas to visit and we got to spend some time with them. They stayed the night one evening for a sleepover and what a blast the girls all had together. They played and laughed, baked cookies, ate pizza and watched a movie.

During their stay, we celebrated Katelyn's 6th birthday with an American Girl birthday party. It was wonderful getting to celebrate with this sweet girl again this year.

We then had our annual Mesquite Rodeo Night with the Hein family for Gampa's birthday. The girls just loved seeing the horses, bull riding and so forth. All three of them fell fast asleep on the car ride home after our fun-filled night.

Brooklyn got a special treat this year from her Nana and Papa. She got to go with Nana to the American Girl Doll store and pick out her very own doll for her birthday. She was very excited and knew exactly which girl she wanted. She chose Julie and brought some of her own saved money to buy a dog along with her doll. She has since made her Daddy build a bed for Julie and a dog house for Spot!
We took a trip to the zoo when we had a short break in the 100 degree heat. Crafts and more swimming, another birthday party and Cayleigh went to see Rapunzel with a friend. The girls also have been begging to have a garage sale (because they heard a story that Daddy sold toys out of his window when he was a kid), so we gathered up some of our older books and sold them for a quarter a book to lots of neighbors. Crazy children and crazy times!

Tomorrow will be Brooklyn's first day of Kindergarten! We are all very excited for her, especially Cayleigh, who is always B's biggest fan. We had Meet the Teacher Night last week and Brooklyn got a new backpack and lunchbox to start at her new school. It's hard to believe that it is time for one of our girls to start school, but we love her teacher and know that she will have a wonderful year!
