Can Life S-L-O-W Down, Please!?!

There are so many things that have happened in the last 2 months that I just can't seem to keep up! Ever since we have moved, every weekend is packed with errands, events, organizing, chores, etc. We have spent a lot of time in the car because our lives haven't quite made the transition from Grand Prairie to Keller as our physical presence has.

Events:

We have been fortunate enough to attend many of the Ranger baseball games here recently and celebrate another ALCS title! Aaron and Uncle Jason even flew to St. Louis this past Friday to watch Game 7 of the World Series...what a spontaneous and exciting story that all turned out to be!

Family gatherings and visiting with the Jason de Wolfe Family!

Furniture deliveries, landscaping, upgrades to the house, painting and more decorating gets squeezed into the spare moments we have left!

Mommy and Cayleigh:
I got very sick a few weeks back with the cold/flu and within this time, I got a 48 hour bug :( I ended up at the doctor, severely dehydrated and has lost weight. Luckily, all is well and have totally gained that weight back...darn!

My most recent check-up showed me measuring "small", so I go for another sonogram on Monday to check Cayleigh's growth and progress. Then get checked again on Tuesday and (from the looks of it) will find out an inducement date. My doctor has told me to prepare to stop working by Friday due to the swelling in my knees and discomfort from such a long daily commute. My blood-pressure has been normal considering my very stressful school year this year.

Brooklyn:
She is so amazing and fun to watch these days. She picks up on everything and has such a imagination. I could literally go on and on for days about her.....but, I'll spare everyone. She has enjoyed being with the new babysitter, Mrs. Christy. She has learned so much and is doing fabulously (95% of the time) with potty training. She is in big girl panties all day except for at night!

I hope to be more consistent on my updates and blogging coming up (as I have left so many things out). We have lots of house pictures and soon baby pictures and stories to share!!!

A Texas-Size Weekend

The weekend was packed with Postseason Ranger Games, Texas State Fair, family gatherings, furniture deliveries, late nights, and long car rides. That's the way we roll in Texas!!






Saturday, after our haircuts, we awaited the arrival of our new couch for upstairs and boy did it come! Jen de Wolfe said that we should summit it for the Guinness Book of World Records....we have most of it and are just lacking the sleeper section to complete it.....totally around 22 feet long. It stretches the length of our entire game room back wall! "Go Big or Go Home!" (pictures to come)

Then, we headed to Grand Prairie, where we dropped B off to stay with cousin Addy and Kate (in-town from PA for a baseball visit) while Aaron and I tailgated with Jason, Jen and friends before the Ranger game. A wet night to say the least; several rain delays took the game until just after midnight to finish with a Win!






Sunday came way too early and yet another trip to GP to hang out with the Hein family, grub on brisket and ribs for a family get together! The ball game was postponed unitl Monday due to all the rain.

Monday morning, bright and early, we headed to the Great State Fair of Texas with the Jason de Wolfe clan and Papa de Wolfe. The girls had a great time at the petting zoo, dog show, riding some rides and eating greasy food. Of course we ate Fletcher's famous corn dogs and tried fried brownies this year! Oh my, they were good :)

Tuesday was not very friendly, to say the least.

Brooklyn's First "Official" Haircut

Well, we finally broke down and took Brooklyn for her first haircut on Saturday morning. Which, is not really her "first" because we have had to trim her bangs twice now because they were covering her eyes.

Nonetheless, it was a slightly momentous occasion, I guess you could say. Brooklyn did alright, no complaints and no tears from her or Mommy. It only took about 4 minutes. We got her bangs trimmed as well as the rest of her hair. I love her long, wild and crazy curls, so I wouldn't dare actually chop any significant amount of hair off. Although, some days she does look a bit like a blond Medusa!

One Day Warrior

Mommy hasn't exactly been feeling up to par lately and Sunday was an especially rough day. So while I laid in bed all day very sick, Daddy was the hero once again. He swooped in and took care of breakfast and lunch and ran the necessary errands with Brooklyn.
He bought her a new princess fishing pole, so they got to hang out together fishing for a bit. (As you may recall, our last camping trip resulted in a rather large, mysterious fish dragging her first pole out into the lake!) I mustered up enough energy to snap a few pictures and then crawled back into bed for another 4 hour nap. Blah :(







All the while, he placed the washer and dryer on the handmade pedestals he put together....yes, we saved about $300 by not buying some! And completely finished painting Cayleigh's room. Brooklyn napped for longer than usual, so Aaron said it made life so easy getting things accomplished while his "girls" were sleeping (and not nagging him)! I offered to be sick every weekend if that was the case!!
